      Had to look up the bacteria’s name but from memory otherwise:

      Cholera is an infection that is caused by bacteria (as opposed to a virus, fungus or parasite of some kind).

      The name of the virus is Vibrio Cholerae in Latin. It only affects humans and is a very unpleasant thing to have with some pretty harsh symptoms, usually involving the gut.
